Prostate Cancer Symptoms

Prostate Cancer Symptoms

Prostate Cancer SymptomsProstate cancer is the second most common type of cancer in men, next to skin cancer. Most prostate cancers are slow growing and do not tend to spread far. As a result, it may take years for symptoms to develop. In some people, prostate cancer does not cause symptoms at all.

Prostate cancer most commonly occurs in older men. This type of cancer does not always require treatment depending on a variety of factors, including age, cancer growth rate, and symptoms.

Prostate Cancer Symptoms

The symptoms of prostate cancer vary from person to person. Some individuals do not experience symptoms at all, while some may experience multiple symptoms.

Prostate Cancer Symptoms Include:

  • Blood in the urine or semen
  • Difficulty with starting urination
  • Difficulty emptying the bladder completely
  • Pain or a burning sensation during urination
  • Painful ejaculation
  • Frequent urination
  • Persistent pain in the back, pelvis, or hips
  • A sensation of needing to urinate even though you have emptied your bladder

If you experience one or more of these symptoms, visit your doctor. Your doctor will be able to determine the exact cause of these symptoms and recommend a treatment plan as necessary.
